About

Hi all! Welcome to Waste Not Want Not! My name is Marguerite and I am a millennial who just moved back to Chicago from DC.

For a while now I had been thinking of putting my love of environment/sustainability/eco-friendliness together with my other love of writing, and thus Waste Not Want Not was born!

I have known for a long time that being eco-conscious was not something I wanted to do just as a lifestyle, but also as a career. I studied Environmental Management at Indiana University, then went on to get my Master of Public Affairs with a concentration in Sustainable Development.

Since graduating, I had the awesome opportunity to work out in DC, but now I am back in the Midwest and living in Chicago for the first time.

This blog will mostly cover my adventures of being an environmentalist in the city. From apartment composting and city farmers markets, to upcycling and active transportation, I hope to cover it all.

Whether it is through my blog, career, or many side activities, my main goal is to help make a difference and inspire change. Want to join?

  1. Aloha Marguerite (what a beautful name!!!),

First of all I love the content of your blog. I find it so liberating to get rid of things you think you need but you actually don’t and than realize you haven’t missed it all. What a refreshing blog you have! I love it!

I came across your blog because of your comment on natural deodorants 🙂

I have just wrote a whole blog post on this topic.

Check it out and follow me if you are interested 🙂

#Healthyalternatives: An all natural deodorant that works!

I love that we are interested in the same type of things and write about similar topics.

I just recently started my blog where I will write about my 60lbs weight loss journey (and hopefully motivate and inspire you to become the healthiest and strongest you :-)) beauty, fitness, different places around the world and different types of cuisines.

I would love to hear from you on my blog and for you to be part of my journey 🙂

    Have a lovely day!

    Aloha from Hawaii
